In my 50 years on this planet, there’s not much I haven’t experienced. Honestly, hit me up, you might be surprised. I’m not kidding. But the biggest surprise of all is that most of it happened after I met Jesus Christ. And when I say “met Jesus,” I mean I literally met Him. No joke. It was one very desperate and hopeless stormy night in 2007, and I’ve been punching on with Him ever since!! …….with a few warm hugs here and there LOL!.

You’d think that after such a supernatural encounter, I got my life together and became an absolute success.

Ummmm… nope.

I still had a lot to learn, much to go through. And although God didn’t cause the bad things that happened, or make me choose the terrible decisions I made, He’s always been there protecting me, and mostly from myself.

Most importantly, He never left me, even in times I turned my back on Him, I hated Him, I cursed Him out. I gave up on Him time and time again, but He never gave up on me, not even once.

Now, as I turn 50 years and have finally stopped thrashing around like a fish out of water God has given me an important job to do. He placed in me long ago a deep desire to encourage and support others, a genuine, real drive to reach those who feel overlooked, unloved, and unforgivable.

The Holy Spirit tugs at my heart every time I meet someone hiding behind a mask of stoicism they’ve built to survive. They smile faintly and say with an empty chuckle, “Oh well, that’s just life, you know how it is.”

But I want to tell you, that’s completely untrue. God has loved you since the moment He knitted you together in the womb. This isn’t how it was meant to be. This is not God’s plan for you.

Most people don’t realise that in God they have real hope and purpose. But they’ve believed the lies of the enemy for so long that they think God no longer cares, that they’re beyond saving. I’ve always had a true empathy for those who struggle, and I hear God calling me to tell you that you are truly loved. With Him, you can overcome and accomplish anything within His will for you — including happiness, contentment, joy, and peace.
